Noise and Blown Highlights Aren't the End of the World

If there are two things that photographers work really hard to avoid in their images, they are noise and blown highlights. It is drilled into us from day one that these are to be avoided as much as possible. But are they really the end of the world? Maybe not. Coming to you from Blake Rudis with f64 Academy, this great video discusses the topic of noise and blown highlights in photos and why they are not always the end of the world.

Fstoppers Reviews the Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 Lens: A Good Ultra-Wide for MFT Shooters

The Micro Four Thirds system isn’t my go-to system for night sky or astrophotography, but if it’s yours, you can do far worse than photographing that sky with the Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f/2 lens for Micro Four Thirds. Laowa makes two versions of this lens, one with automatic aperture control and one without, at about a $50 price difference. The extra CPU chip and motor in the automatic aperture version also pass EXIF data to the camera and trigger focusing aids such as automatic magnification on my Panasonic Lumix G85 when I twisted the focus ring.

Regular readers might recall that it wasn’t until six months into the global pandemic that I started photographing the huge forest on my doorstep (see Why Would you Become a Landscape Photographer if You Don't Like Landscape Photography?).

Jupiter In Pisces 2022 ~ Enjoy This Trip... | Darkstar Astrology

Jupiter in Pisces 2022 is a transit we have all been waiting for. Why? Because Jupiter rules Pisces, Pisces, and he has spent far too long in signs where he is totally restricted from doing his thang. Even if he wanted to throw caution to the wind, he couldn't because Saturn has been keeping his beady authoritarian eyes on his fun-loving brother, like a CTV camera.
